What separates us from the rest?

In this exciting age of super technology, almost anything can be created or duplicated cheaply -- including book publishing. Furthermore, POD publishers have garnered a less than spotless reputation from the prestigious publishing industry -- mainly due to their voracious appetite for a "paying" clientele . This insatiable desire for the almighty dollar, causes many POD publishers to accept anything written on paper, floppy disk, or CD. This truth, is what separates S&S from the rest. The following list should dispel any questions or concerns that you may have about using S&S for all of your publishing needs:

Most POD publishers accept anything!

Not us. Your manuscript goes through a preliminary process to ensure that the material is not only pertinent and interesting, but also marketable as well. All manuscripts must be at least 125 pages long, double spaced and typed, with a 12pt. font size, 0.5 inch margins and a Word document. Your manuscript should be as clean as possible. Free of misspellings, major grammatical problems, and typos. After the preliminary run through, your manuscript will be automatically passed on to a professional copy editor. It will be edited for style, grammar, syntax, sentence structure, and content. At this point, you may be contacted if major reworking is necessary to bring your work up to industry standards. If those standards cannot be reached, the work will be denied and all funds will be returned.

POD books are easy to spot because the covers are cheap looking!

Not our covers. We will not, under any circumstances use a template to create a cover! Our covers will either be painted by a professional artist, or designed by a professional graphic designer. You have a say in what you want your cover to look like. We encourage our authors to go to their favorite bookstore and peruse the covers. It's truly the only way to get real marketable ideas. Check out the bestsellers in your genre and glean from them. Don't copy them, just draw from their creativity and come up with something original. If you can't on your own, our artists are creative enough to do it for you.

POD publishers don't market We're just not that cold. Listen, you are new to this industry. How are you to get a real foothold, if we just give you a great book and then throw you to the wolves. With S&S, you will automatically have 10 book signings set up for you, a press release faxed to 50 mediums, (optional publicity services available with the McCormick Agency with additional costs), and also optional radio, television, and magazine cooperative advertising. Your title will also be listed with Ingram, the worlds largest book distributor meaning that any bookstore can order your book. You will also be listed with Ingram's Advance Magazine Catalog, as well as our own.

Most POD packages don't include much other than printing the book?

That's not the way we operate. Included in your package, is a professional photo shoot (you chose the photo for the back cover), extensive edit, professional cover design, book signings, tours, and cooperative advertisements (extra cost for co-op ads. Author is also responsible for hotel and food expenses on tours).
